New Group Members
Bhavya Singh Naruka
Bhavya joined our group as student assistant; My research interests are Econometrics, Machine Learning and Deep Learning.
Sahar Javaheri
Sahar joined our group as a postdoc; As a biologist with a passion for the natural world, particularly birds, I have dedicated my academic pursuits to understanding and unraveling the complexities of avian biodiversity. My educational journey led me to Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, where I completed both my master and Ph.D. in animal biosystematics. During my master’s program, I focused on the study of bird biodiversity in northeastern Iran, utilizing the CO1 barcoding gene. This experience laid the foundation for my doctoral project, which centered on the taxonomic study of great tit (Parus major) using molecular markers. In my Ph.D. project, I endeavored to shed light on the evolutionary relationships within this complex species.
Aure Kylmänen
Aure is pursuing her PhD and has joined our group in June 2023. Originally, she comes from Finland, did her bachelor's degree in Scotland, University of Aberdeen and her master's in Oulu, Finland. She will be responsible for the fieldsite with the great tit (Parus major) nestboxes on the campus.
You can contact her, if you're interested in doing some fieldwork as student project .
Dr. Justin Wilcox
Justin is a PostDoc, who joined our group in 2023. Formerly, he did research in avian genomics, parasitology and microbial ecology and now, he will focus on genomic architecture and evolution in great tits (Parus major).
You can contact him, if you're interested in conducting a student research project.
