Prof. Dr. Toni Gossmann
I am a Professor for Computational Systems Biology at the Faculty of Bio- and Chemical Engineering at TU Dortmund University.
The research of my team centers around the evolutionary analyses of biological systems - by using population and molecular genetic approaches and their applications to pressing problems in ecology, medicine and biology. For many questions we use songbirds as models to investigate patterns of genetic, epigenetic and ecological adaptation. But we also develop omic analyses to investigate other species, e.g. the Alpine marmot, fruit flies, fungi and bacterial species - usually by applying research question tailored analyses pipelines.
